Have an expert on your side: Lighting is complex, and it’s what we live and breathe. We’ve tackled the most challenging projects and have seen it all. Not only will we know the best solution for your project, we also don’t profit from you spending more money, so we want to make the most economical decisions for you.
-
Help you effectively manage your budget: We’re here to help ensure you don’t spend more than you need to, whether that’s saving you on upfront costs, or guiding you to choices that will save you long-term (more on this below!). We ensure you are aware of all costs associated with every decision.
-
Add to the design and architecture: We love working hand-in-hand with the design team to ensure the project is properly illuminated, upleveling the space by shining light on beautiful finishes, creating a specific mood, defining spaces, and so much more.
-
Elevate beautiful elements: Well-done lighting makes everything look that much better, and those beautiful design details you’re investing in deserve to stand out as much as possible. Don’t spend all of your budget on beautiful marble, but not properly illuminate it. For example: if you light bamboo wood floors and white walls using low-cost MR16 lamps, you will end up with a green-ish room. Lower cost MR-16 lamps use a mirror reflector with a lot of green, and bamboo has green undertones in it. Using a better MR-16, or even better a warm LED lamp with plenty of reds and blues will make the space feel as you intended. A lighting designer will help you avoid a green room or dull marble by ensuring your lighting complements the design.
-
Understand the ever-changing technology: Lighting technology is changing as fast as computer technology. Think about it: the LED is a “microchip”, and the drivers are microcomputers controlling the power to the LEDs, all of which is changing constantly. There is also more lighting research happening than ever before, which means it’s important to have an expert who is up-to-date on the latest and greatest on your side.
-
Make appropriate long-term decisions: Our job is to provide you with as much value as possible, which doesn’t just mean on day one; we are thinking about how the lighting will impact your space for years and years to come. We ensure you are aware of all of the costs, from the immediate ones, to the energy use and maintenance costs down the road. We take everything into consideration and always think long term. We even consider how lighting could drive new business: when a space is well-lit, owners see higher prices for rentals, restaurateurs see more traffic, shoppers spend more; the list goes on and on. Lighting is a powerful business tool.
Hiring a lighting designer isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. We’re here to ensure the money you are putting into a new design is maximized, illuminating new features, saving you energy costs, understanding the power of lighting and always presenting you with the best technology. We’re here to support your mission.
